Founder, Sail Commons · runs thisismyurl.com

I run thisismyurl.com, a WordPress, LMS, and web infrastructure practice, and I founded Sail Commons in July 2026 as a free, open source approach to sailing education.

The premise is plain: most sailing knowledge gets handed over in person, someone who knows stands next to someone who doesn't, on a boat. That works, but it only works if you already know someone with a boat. Sail Commons is my attempt to open that up, built for young people who want to get genuinely good at sailing and don't have a family mooring or a club membership to start from.

What I bring to it

My day-to-day work is building and maintaining WordPress sites, learning management systems, and the web infrastructure behind them, at thisismyurl.com. That's what I can point to and let you verify: I build things people can teach from and rely on.

How this site works

I publish a monthly edition, a curated digest of sailing and marina news, alongside a growing library of teaching material and boat-class reference pages. Every article carries its named sources, gets checked against an independent AI review before it publishes, and gets corrected in public when I get something wrong.

I'll add more here about how I came to sailing as this site grows. For now, this page is as honest as the front page: there's more to say, and I'd rather wait and say it properly than pad this out.
