US Sailing names 11 programs for 2026 Reach Youth Engagement Grants
Why this matters: our read
The conditions favour programs that are already established charities with certified instructors, since individuals cannot apply directly, and the one deadline the page lists has already passed.
US Sailing named eleven programs as 2026 Reach Youth Engagement Grant recipients, from Alameda Community Sailing Center in California to Sarasota Youth Sailing and the Syracuse Sail & Power Squadron. The announcement gives no total.
Reach teaches science and technology through sailing. As read on US Sailing’s grant page on November 1, 2026, the page lists a March 6, 2026 proposal deadline and announces no next round. The money covers program materials, transportation and student costs. Applicants must be 501(c)(3) non-profits, the US tax status for charities, with a current US Sailing Organizational Membership, so individuals cannot apply directly. On-water sessions must be run by instructors certified by US Sailing at Small Boat Level 1 or Basic Keelboat. US Sailing says it makes no multi-year commitments. The page scheduled award notification for April 3, 2026, and gives no maximum award.
